Luftwaffe Hat Badge Question

I have tried to get clarification on why the Luftwaffe EM Hat eagles range in price from 20USD-100USD+. Minus condition what are the other factors. MM is probably one factor, but what else can make the prices vary so much ? Does anyone know where I can get a timeline on the different manufacturing techniques etc?

I would not pay $100 for one of these eagles and am somewhat astonished that there are asking prices that high. The last one I bought ran about $45. Sometimes to restore a hat, you must find one with the proper distance between the prongs so as to not damage a hat without an eagle. This can be a lengthy search sometimes. But I really don't think that much money is a fair price.
