    Cloth Badge Values

    Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of thinning-out my collection a little and I'm just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the current values of a couple of pieces. I have unissued examples of a Radio Operator/ Air Gunner badge in cloth (vaulted with fabric scraps and a paper backing, and an Air Gunner/ Flight Engineer badge in cloth with darker gray eagle and Hakenkreuz. I'll have pictures shortly, but they are in excellent condition.

    Thanks.

    Hello Matt,

Pricing is an art, not a science.

Most Luftwaffe cloth badges are priced around $100.00. Give or take.

These are not fast moving pieces.

But the puffy (vaulted) badge will sell faster.
I'd price it at $125-$140. Retail prices.

Other Air Gunner / Engineer cloth badge, $70-$100. Retail.

Would be interested to hear other member's opinions.

    Regards,
    Howard

        $$$

I'd agree with Howard on the values. I did pay $175 for a padded para badge last year, and felt it was worth it due to the rarity.

In Europe you can find these badges for 70-80 euros (Para badges are allways more expensive: 100-120 euros or more, it depends). The vaulted pattern increase the value at least an 40-50%.
All these badges really are not very desiderable for the main part of collector, at least if they don******180;t show sign of have been worn.
About the pattern for officers the story is different, but be carefull: you can find a lot of well done fakes.
            Regards.
