As a matter of curiosity, do we know how your friend was made to trust this seller? We'd love to hear more details - I am a firm believer in exposing these problems when they come up.

      Hi,

Do you have any more information regarding the mission? I would be very interested to hear more

      Best Regards,
      Robert.

If this honor goblet was supposed to be Werner Hoffmann's one (the famous nightfighter ace) the "swiss guy" couldn't send it to your friend as Werner Hoffmann is still alive and if I do no mistake he still owns his goblet and doesn't plan to sell it.

The honor goblet is an highly desirable award but as many forum members have already warned you need to be very careful when you plan to buy one and especially when it is supposed to have been awarded to a knight's cross holder. A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine in the States proudly showed me a nice honor goblet of course awarded to a knight's cross holder. The only problem was that this knight's cross holder is still alive and still has all his awards (I know him and saw them). Considering the price my friend had paid I couldn't tell him the truth.
100% original goblet but certainly awarded to an unknown gefreiter but upgraded by a nice dealer

              Goblet

Since these were all hand engraved, I've always been leery of buying one to a very famous recipient (i.e. highly decorated). I'd feel more comfortable having some no name guy...unless the provenance was air tight.

You are correct and this is the recipient's Goblet in which my friend believed he was getting.
