    Good Afternoon Joseph,

Yes, I was trying to keep these guys under my hat as well. Competition is just too much with the better dealers these days and I have already seen an increase with a couple of other dealers that I used to like using. I am getting frustrated with these dealers lately either not updating their sites with sold items or the left-hand not talking to the right-hand on items sold.

I have had a few items in the last two or three months that I was told were mine, only to wait for a month or so to show up and then told, sorry, our mistake somebody else got them! moremad moremad . Nothing more frustrating than thinking you got something coming in, waiting and looking for it in the mail, worrying it got lost, then told "oh, sorry we made a mistake". Meanwhile your money is tied up and you pass on something else good and end up losing all around.

You may be correct with the guy coming in once a week to do translations as they answered a few of my questions, but wanted to wait for the boss (Claus Philipp?) to come back on the 21st to answer the rest in more details. I hate this waiting game!

They are also in process of setting up to handle credit card transactions and expect that to be in place soon. I think that's why a lot of people have not dealt with these guys much in the past, but that's my thought. Have you purchased from them before this? Frank (Munich) was the other interested party in that OM badge, but I think he didn't reserve it yet and was asking questions and PICS before ordering. I think he is kicking your picture at the moment. Something about Kermit!!

Anyway, I did ask them to reserve the item for me back on 12/31 and got an e-mail stating they would hold the GWL badge for me on 1/3/03 until the boss could answer the rest of the questions, if that gives you a timeline. I also sent them an e-mail last night to confirm this and clear up the mess. Hope it works out for both of us and we both get lucky. They do have other items that look good and though they are high in price, seem to be coming into competition as everybody else jacks their prices up. Too bad as I had my eye on a few other pieces as well. I'm sure they'll be gone now.

      don't worry Tim,

I am sure in the next few months we will see many good pieces to come in the market because the prices are very high now and these sure make a logical movement and waited a lot for offer more than that up to last year!

I don't believe very much that the collectors don't want to have a chance to get very good profit for some of their badges that they have in the box as they have said in a recent thread.

so, keep your money and wait,wait........ and you will get a better badge for a better price! good hunting!

Maybe I'm being paranoid but about upto 5 years ago OM pilot badges were like gold dust now they're popping up everywhere and seem to more common than Junckers.

I really hope these are not being produced in some eastern block country from the original dies!

              Hi,
A thorough investigation from my side gives us the following information:

The OM badge only came in 3 patterns AND only 3 badges were made !
              The 3 patterns are :

              A left pattern.
              A middle pattern.
              A right pattern.

Seems that Tim owns all 3 patterns and all 3 badges so....???

On the other hand I've found out that OM actually means :

              Oriƫntal Made !

              Just my 2cents observations....
              Carry on please !!

              Nevertheless they're quite nice !!

              Jos.

                  OM Badge--Baa-Hum-Bug

                  Tim C:
Thanks, but I don't really like OM badges. Even Assmann look better! Give mine to Frank (Munich).

                  Ivan:
Nice try getting me to wait and let you guys buy up all the good stuff! Besides, I can barely afford today's prices let alone tomorrows.

                  David:
Sorry buddy, it's a secret! But you may want to check out the first page of the post. Oops! it's gone now--great job JD!!

                        Good ol' Tim Calvert

I always thought Calvert was an exhibitionist. The only thing missing from the 3 OMs image is his trenchcoat.

Just kidding. Tim, nice badges. Almost as nice and Francois' and mine.....hehehe.

PS- Tim, have you tried the Barenjaeger yet???
