    Pilot Badge

    My Australian mate, Bob Lyons, was offered this badge. I told him to pass! However, badges are my weakest area; I am mainly a uniform collector, so Bob asked that I post this for other opinions.

        Hello John,

        Well I do see some similiarities in the unmarked examples that I have seen, BUT overall I see more things that I do not like than I like. I think that the scans are not really giving a true picture of the detail, but with that said their are other aspects that show up fine that would make me not want this piece.

        1. The hinge is similar, the pin should be in the 6 o'clock not the 12 o'clock.

        2. The pin just looks to big, in diamiter and length.

        3. The wreath lacks definition to me, what is that wreath made out of anyway?

        4. Is their a cut out between the eagles legs? Doesn't look like it.

        Just a few comments, I am sure the others will have much to say.

              Many thanks fellows! I'm sure Bob appreciates it. He'd better The eagle looks cast to me, the casting shows around the swas. to my old gramps eyes.

              I'll have my Parisian friend know my son turned 15 yesterday, and so I'd better be a long way from really being a gramps! In addition, I please the fair sex better than he does despite his heritage. Better take vitamins kid.
