Hello again, everyone. I have two Assmann Observer Badges that seem a little different in detailing to the front and reverse. The maker marks are different, as well as the finish to the reverse of the eagle. They are both heavy badges of nickle silver. Just for starters I can see a difference in the eagle's beak. The detailing to the feathers is slightly different, especially the eagle's left wing. One eagle has a heavier or thicker neck than the other. Does anyone know of Assmann using two ( or more ) different sets of dies to produce these early badges? I see no difference in the wreaths. The pin and hinge assembly appear identical. One badge has a heavier catch than the other. Anyone have anything to add? Robert
