      Agree with Albert.

Value is difficult. Detlev would certainly want 250Euro for this.

Wrong forum really, there's a cases and packets forum that needs threads like this one.

I'd say a mid to latter for scope, more mid period production and issue wise onwards if honest perhaps (possible if not applicable in this instance, we will never know on a premise basis for sure) and hence onwards made, don't be fooled by the materials and guise, this could be as early as a 1943 era box in my opinion onwards subject to availability of other cases use and further to that production materials etc etc.

I've evidence of such cases being issued in and around early 1943 !!! Thats not to say all were made in this estimation of time, or that other types of a more quality liner or base were not made in the same instance, I believe dearly they were and in the latter stages of the war to an extent, without an assimilation theory to issue/when issued to box made.

There is always a period of 'adjustment', I think where continuity is malign to the purpose of thought, a good example of this is in the Ldo logo's for one provincial example.

In a case like this, you've varying degree's of quality, and if take on that basis alone, this one purports a better indicaion of quality than other examples, so perhaps earlier rather than a 'later' made box.

Just my thoughts. When you look into it time/period scales are very difficult..so for the sake of it, yes a later period box then.

              Marcus

Edit: an earlier example say, of the various latter production types for arguments sake.

Thanks Markus, first I am sorry, I completly forget the case and packet forum . Second I want to thanks you for your answer, its interesting to know that case could be a 1943 one, because that would mean the badge could be one too.

I will receive the badge this friday probably and I will be able to give some picture for you guy. Only thing I can say its that the pin has been repaired during war time and its unmarked

Here finally the badge arrived. It is unmarked and in good condition. Catch has been nicely repaired. Picture of the back are not really good, I will try to post more once my camera battery are ready and I will try to fix the white balance.

I can't view the pictures very well, but if this is the unknown zinc badge I think it could be, then the only case/carton I've ever seen these in are like this one of mine below.

Thats not to say it could be possble that your badge or badges like it were presented in these boxes like yours perhaps.

Hi Marcus, here a direct link to the picture, can be slow to download:

As for the case, I don't know what to say really. Dealer told me that the case was original to the cross.

It could very well be, all in all the period matches (certainly able to assimilate as often seen) as such, so would shouldn't they be a pair perhaps.

Just because I've seen a few of these badges only in these boxes I don't think we should just take it for granted this is the only way. My pair is late and could well be the last resort in the packageing of these and yours earlier than mine.....so no don't worry

I do think this is a possible combination.

                          Hi,

Franko, the badge looks like a genuine "unknown maker" example with an obviously heavily repaired/replaced hinge/pin.

Re the case, this is the blue hinged type I would expect to find an "unknown maker" LW badge in - imo anything else and I would be thinking "married badge/case". My tombak unknown maker PO came in the same style case (different writing of course) and is definitely original to the case. I think Marcus' cardboard box type is either and extremely late war type or a cheaper alternative sold alongside the typical blue hinged variety.

                          Regards
                          Mike
