    Luftwaffe Pilots Badge

    Hello,

I'm having serious doubts of this badge. The hinge and the pin are strange and I haven't seen this code (SDG or SOG) before. There is also an open space between the legs of the eagle and the rivets were rather hasty stamped (not on a straight line). Anyone with more thoughts?

    Thank you...

OK, thank you Stijn. I posted too soon and on the wrong forum.
As for the pictures, I've added a hyperlink to them. There is also an extra html file I made. I truly hope you are all able to see them (it worked fine for me)

        pilots badge

        Hello,

Im sorry my friend to be the bearer of bad news => but your badge is a known fake ( there is no such maker know during wartime Germany ), the eagle is way to crudely made, the C catch, etc ... is wrong, etc ....

Im sure others can be more detailed about this particular badge and hoping I was of some help for you.

        Cordial Greetings,

          Hello again Stijn,

You may call it fortunate for me or unfortunate for my friend. I used my camera to share the pictures with the experts out here. I don't have German medals or badges in my personal collection (too many risks and too expensive to take any risks )
Anyway, we still would like to hear more opinions, if any

          Thank you...

            Hello Suppi,
There is absolutely nothing about this badge that has the slightest notion of being an original piece. The maker mark shown is not valid for any manufacturer of these badges of this era. No genuine Luftwaffe badge had that type of catch for the pin. Space between the eagles legs is way too large for any Pilots Badge adler. The pin is shaped wrong at the top and there is too much space between it and the so called hinge. The wreath has the "dip" above the bars ( this is wrong except for early Assmann made badges!) Bottom line Suppi is that this is DEFINATELY not real - sorry!

The "SOG" marked badges are all FAKE. In fact, I don't believe that these badges were ever made to decieve collectors...they are too crude. I think they were originally made as replicas or souveneirs, and only the most deceitful or ignorant people would attempt to sell these as authentic.
