    Calling all unknown maker Observer's

Ho, Ho, Ho this one just came in from Kai's Christmas sale and is only the second one I have seen so far. There was one posted in this thread early this year; http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ad.php?t=82204

Mine has an aluminum eagle and that looks like what the other one is as well, was that the norm for these? Just wanted to check since they seem rather rare.

    Thanks, Alan

little better picture here than before.

      Dear Alan,

I own the example pictured in the other thread. It is like yours, a Tombak wreath with an aluminium eagle.

I have seen two more, with yours 4 examples known to me.
      Cheers, Frank

        Hello Alan,
Mine is the same as well - tombak wreath and aluminum eagle. She weighs in at 33.6 grams. I have not come across many either, three I believe?

Thanks to Frank and Eric. These are more scarce than I thought, that seems kind of odd concidering how common pilot badges are from the "unknown". Tons of tombak and zinc pilots out there, and some paratroopers as well in both metals. I have a zinc radio operator also. But then they never used aluminum on anything else so maybe that's why not many were made. Just thinking out loud.

Very nice guys. I like the subtle finish contrast between the tombac and aluminum - a very 'rich' look...
