    A Glider Badge to review!

Okay, Tim, Francois, what do you think of this one?? No maker mark, looks nice, but your opinions please??

    And the reverse

Looks like this. Note the large flat-head rivets. Badge is on offer from Weitze. Hamburg

      Hi Stogie,

It looks pretty good to me, appears to be a Juncker eagle and wreath?
Although it definitely wasn't put together by Juncker IMO.
Also, looks like there are cracks around the rivets.
When it comes to these, I think I'd stick to a textbook piece, too much at stake.

      Good Luck,
      Tim

        Concur, but......

Hi Tim, I agree the wreath and eagle look Juncker. But the rivets and pin assembly don't. So, war-time production (assembly) through another seller, or post-war put-together? This badge is offered in it's case of issue, which is really what I'm after. I have a superb Juncker Glider, vetted by Detlev Niemann as the real McCoy and one of the nicest ones he's seen. But alas, no case!

          Glider pilots badge

          Hello Stogie,

This badge certainly looks good from both reverse ( eagle, wreath, etc .. ) and I would have no problem in owning it, => I would not say it is a Juncker made piece ( looking at the cracks on the reverse of the wreath I would rather go for a BSW made piece, as this is a feature much found on this particular producer ) .

          Cordial greetings,

Yeah, on second look, I think Stijn is right, BSW.
Where's Snigly when you need him??

                              Badge featured in web site

Not to cause a problem here but a glider badge is very clearly featured in this web site's listings under WAR BADGES Luftwaffe. And I sure hope that one is real because that's what mine looks like...Link to Glider Badge

How many variations did Juncker make?
