Stunning set of badges! I think it's accepted that the CEJ luft badges are the earliest. Although that mark was used on some of the first production Spanish Crosses which I think were manufactured in early 1939. Has it been determined when the approximate switch was made from CEJ to CE Juncker Berlin SW on the luft badges? Was there a period when both marks overlapped? Perhaps we'll never know...

Scott,
That question has been tossed around for a while. If the Spanish Crosses were made in, what, 38-39, there wound have had to have been an overlap. The rare (as hell) Heer Para badges are marked with C.E.JUNCKER. Of course, less than a handfull. But the point is that in 37-38 the Paras were full Juncker, as well as most of the Luft Badges. What prompted 'them' to made the Spanish Crosses CEJ? A smaller stamp on the rear of the cross? Was the 'retired' CEJ stamp brought out retirement for a limited run of special Spanish Crosses?
