I'd like to thank everyone for their help with the badge in question. Mike K, JD, Rick, Paul, Skip and Frank- thank you. I feel safe in saying this piece is afterall authentic. The photos you sent in were great pieces and a real education to see the variations in the catch design of this one maker. Nice to see the maker mark the same on all, including my own. Thanks again for everyones help. This forum is fantastic. By the way, I looked in my old records and found the receipt for this badge. It was still expensive at $461.00, but I just couldn't resist a mint piece. Once in a lifetime. The new kid on the block, Robert....

Mikael, to get back with you on the weight and dimensions of this badge. I used a weighing device that measured grains very accurately. I came up with 490 grains. One gram equals 15.432 grains, ending up with 31.75 grams. The dimensions are as follows:

            Wreath heighth: 56mm
            Wreath width: 43mm
            Wingspan: 40mm

The wreath is slightly concave. Well, there we have it. Glad to be of help. Robert

dm5000, thanks for the photos of the badge you recently sold. This helps put together for me a good reference library of this badge and it's maker, with his different variations. I appreciate all of the support you and the others have given me in my search for it's authenticity. It's been a very rewarding 1st week for me as a new member to the forum. Thanks from the 'new kid on the block'. Robert

                No problem...

No problem Robert. Welcome.. Just another reason why we say that no reference book you will ever own will be as good as this site. Membership is a bargain.

                Regards,
                Dave
