        Hi Frank,

I remember at the time thinking that your badge looks OK to me.
I donĀ“t know why the others do not like it, sweated on eagles are normal on differant variations of the ground combat badge.
Looks to me like a mint example, like mine, and as I said that is vet (widow) obtained togeather with a unmarked Flak.

          Hi Frank,

I remember that thread now - I was away from home at the time so I couldn't comment meaningfully.

Having a look at your badge now and comparing it to my zinc example, I think the badge itself is OK. The separately applied eagle, however, is different - very different - to the eagle on my badge (and to the other GB badges in both this thread and the other thread). All the feathering is different, and the side on close-up shot of the bronze eagle shows a totally different side profile and different shear marks. The reason why the eagle probably looks strange on your badge is that I think it is a replacement - period or recent I would not like to guess.

          Regards
          Mike K

              Hello Guys,

Thank you for all the pics on this maker as well as the example itself. This has been a new one for me and I appriciate the education. One question , did this maker ever make an example of this piece in any other metal other than zinc?

              Cordially

                      Hi Paul,

Does your example have the flatwire "C" catch or the roundwire "?" catch? I think the latter, which will make Robert feel more comfortable, but I'm not 100% sure from the images.

                      Regards

                        Hello Gentleman,

I have never seen GCB by this maker and would like some addition information, is this maker rare for this piece or have I just not come across one. Robert, appears to have paid alot for his example, but is this an accurate price point given the rarity of thje maker if in fact the maker is rare? Some intel would be gratefully appriciated.
                        Thank you in advance,
                        JD

                          Hi Mike,
the GCB had a round wire catch soldered to a round disc, unfortunatley I don't own the badge pictured any longer having sold it to Bill Shea about a year ago.

                            Dear JD,

No, it is not a very rare maker. GB is Gustav Brehmer, Markneukirchen who you might know in full name from the Luftwaffe Flak Badge.

                            Cheers, Frank

                              Well,

thank you for the education on this maker for the award but $545.00 that sure seems steep for a Zinc GCB by about $250.00 or more. Just my thoughts. Also thank you to everyone for sharing the photos as well as another good thread.

                              Cordially yours,
