    Martin,

This is the only style catch I would be comfortable with on a tombak Juncker.
I've included a pic of the front to hopefully answer your question on the wreath.
You can keep the images, thanks for asking!

That sounds like a good price to me. IF the badge is textbook, and IF the case is real.

I think an authentic Juncker glider is much more rare than an RK.

    Good Luck, hope this helps.

        Hi Tim

My hats off to you. What a supurb specimen you have there. I'm green with envy. I only hope someday, soon I'm able to have an original example of this badge for my own. I would settle for a later zinc one as long as it was authentic. I also concur with you about your badge being scarcer than an RK. I've seen a fair amount of RK's but darn few Glider Pilots.

          Hello Eric,

I guess I am late to this thread and you have already made your mind up on this piece, as I also agree that you should pass and wait for a more textbook example. But I really don't have to tell you that anyway. I think that perhaps BL &L might have made this badge and sweated the adler on. At that price the last thing I want is a question mark.

I have no doubt walked away from some originals, that may have proposed a question in reference to a varient characteristic of sorts, but so be it. On LW pieces the price points are high and supply and demand command those price points. So nothing but textbook pieces that have gone through the eyes of some of the pros on the forum.

If this sound like a lecture it is not, it is more of my own mistakes of the past that I thought worth a mention. I have always found the issue of varients a bear, especially with the quality of the the repos and we all know it sucks when we find out down the road that the $800.00 piece is junk. Been their done that!!!

          Just some thoughts,

          JD

          BTW ,Nice example TC

            Thanks

            Thanks for the images Tim.

By the way, the reason I asked the catch query was because I was offered and knocked back a Deumer Glider a few months back. It did have the flat metal 'Souval-ish' catch but also, the tips of the wreath were a good two mm more apart than your badge. It just set off alarm bells to me so I did the old body swerve thing.

I have seen pictures of but not handled the Juncker badge I mentioned, should get to handle the beast in a few weeks. It's from a dealer I have a pretty good relationship with so if I don't want it it will be no bother.

As for soldered Glider badges...way too risky for this soldier. Just like the Balloon Observer and the Retired Pilot Badges. Not on my to-do list. Gimmie a Glider and a genuine Anti Partisan and I will happy. Well at least for a few weeks.

              Not Buying

              Hi Joe,
I was not contimplating buying this one at all. I was "surfing" through Bills website and saw this one offered there and found it quite an oddball, so I in turn posted it here to get some reaction from the membership.
