    Opinions Please LW Observers Badge

    Hello Gentleman,
Once again, I would like your advice on another Observer Badge before I make a purchase. This one comes from Helmut Weitz. I think that it is a good example, however I always respect any input. This is an early Junkers, I can not say if it is a 1st or 2nd pattern, because I am not sure on the differences. Is this a second pattern. I am referecing the size of the wreath. The price point is $750.00 Euros As always thank you for your help.

top badge, even if it is a bit to expensive for my liking (thats 1400DM).
I think some people changed their prices 1:1 when the Euro came!moremad

        Hello Joseph,
This badge is a second pattern, the heavy version, the badge looks good and is nice,it has a repaired catch though...
I don't know if the price is right, probably it is nowadays,me,myself and I think all prices are to steep, all dealers fancy a Mercedes...or 3,so every month the price tags need to be updated in the scene....well,just my little frustration..
Weitze also has a early Juncker observer with a screwback, that's the thin pattern....heavy priced !!
The early pattern is hard to find and faked ofcourse, good deal to discuss the badges first....If the price sounds right for you,you can consider the second pattern you're showing...or wait for Detlev, but that's also frustrating ..
In the states you'll probably end up with a $ 850.00/900.00 tag !?,not ??
Take your time and good luck my friend !

        Jos.

          Thank you,

Jos and Skip for your responses. I will also inquire about the catch. In refernce to the price point, it seems that is just what it is for an early piece in good condition , give or take $50.00. The price point on the Observer pieces is really out of control. I think that it has more to do with supply and demand. Luftwaffe pieces are hot items and nobody is giving them away..

Jos, I also saw the early Juncker Observer with a screwback, this is the first screw back example that I have seen and your not kidding on the price. It is a nice piece, but not that nice. I would rather put the same dollars towards a Pilots Observer badge.

Thank you again for the thumbs up and I hope that I can return the help in the future.

          Humbley,
          JD

Wow, Jos must have Eagle eyes to have spotted that
Maybe you can get him down on the price if you mention it.
