Good evening gentlemen, tell me by badge, original or not? it was found in the attic and apparently damp, where it was overgrown with brown oxide - a needle, a hinge, and in places all over the badge. Why is there such a strange oxide, such as rust, on non-ferrous metal?

Badge is original, no worries, as why it ages like this, someone might chime in with an answer

I agree that the badge is original and in nice shape considering the context in which it was found. I am not sure about the rust/oxidation or why it would happen.

It's a ground dug badge. Original but with a heavy corrosion to furniture and polished areas.
