Observer Case - Fake?

Hi all,

I have come across this Beobachter case and to my eye it seems pretty good but not quite right? Having the name on it seems odd?

Good case no worries and hard to find but the name have been added somewhere on time.

Case looks original to me as well and the date on the case seems to match well with the later type of case, but hard to sure when the name was added.

So I presume the name is the guy who liberated the case on that date? I'd search for a US or British serviceman with that name.

A textbook late war observer case in decent condition, i have never seen a similar one with added name.
Most likely the guy who took the set as a war souvenir added his name on the case.
Hard to tell for sure.
