    Legion Condor medal bars

    Hi guys.

This is my first post in the Luftwaffe board as my interest in this field is very recent.

As a Spaniard I have always been interested in the Legion Condor and now I have seen these interesting medal bars.

In my opinion the medals themselves look ok and have a chance of being original.. but what do you think about the mount of the bar itself? Ribbons, specially in the 3-medal bar, look quite new and don't match the condition of the medals.

So, what do you think? Legit bars or recently mounted with original pieces?

I think both medal bars are fine, original examples

Thank you for your opinion Scott.

Interesting to me how in the 3-place bar the 4-year service medal has oxidized the Spanish medal but the ribbons look like new.

I have seen other 4-year service medals which tend to oxide much faster that what would be expected, giving the appearance that the medal bar might have been mounted post war

True, but such medal bars were typically only worn once or twice - the odd parade or wedding - then stored away. The end of the SCW came on the heels of the opening of WWII when occasions for most Wehrmacht personnel became less and less.

Use caution when collecting Legion Condor items - it can be addicting!

Beautiful medal bars, can't see any issues with them.
This thread should belong in the General Wehrmacht awards section, where you will get more replies.

@ Scott, that's a lovely collection you got there.

Yo tambiƩn veo demasiado nueva la cinta de la MMI pero las medallas parecen buenas

I see too new looking the MMI ribbon, but everything else is OK
