The line on the edge seems a sign of casting, maybe it's a copy made from an original. Look at the letter H of "technischen", there's a crackline but it seems to be too soft, maybe the original was cracked?
The gray paint is absent, normally it flakes off easily but here there are no rests at all...

the metal should be grey zinc, this is not the case, it reflects the light, the weight could be wrong
