Hmmm

God...Harry Potter is utterly dreadful...kind of Enid Blyton meets C S Lewis meets something very, very boring. It's more wholesome than a year's free pass to a Museli factory....acrid...AVOID!!!

Anyway...I get the general impression that this gets the ok as an early war badge with a late war box. Well...you can see the price on the box...any views on that aspect given the mix and match?

Hi Martin,

I would not necessarily say mismatched - I mentioned later war, not late war. I have a Pilot-Observer (fire-gilt tombak wreath and nickel silver eagle, ie high quality) with the same type of box, straight from the German vet's family, and that badge was awarded in 1943 (from memory, I'll double check when I get home in a few days time). Price seems reasonably - not dirt cheap but certainly not outrageously expensive.

As for Harry Potter, I fear I will be seeing it soon enough. I'll try and sneak the second installment of Lord of the Rings in as well though (when it's released) to even things up a bit - there will be no kids at that one I can tell you now!!

Hi guys.

I haven't actually received the badge yet as I'm paying the dealer in question in two installments. Final installment next payday (Dec 15). Should have the badge a few days later. I'll put a better pic of the box up then.

I've started losing weight since I started this hobby but then good Pilot Badges and DKs are much more important than eating.
