I see nothing more to be said on this particular issue that will contribute to the purpose of this thread.
Just to clarify matters, the badge in question is not "listed" on the MajorPLM website and the website is not a dealership or a commercial website. It is essentially a collectors' showcase, as the credits adjacent to the images show. The badge is on display in the showcase. It is not for sale. However, there is a For Sale page. This is where a few collectors - Phillipe and myself included - can and do sell their stuff directly to other collectors without having to take a hit on the value of anything between 40% and 60% by selling to dealers if they need money. As anyone who has sold stuff through us can tell you, we take no profit. We just make sure our expenses - Paypal etc - are covered. Majorplm is a non-profit website.

              Hey Lo,
Sorry it took so long to answer. Went to the Jags vs skins game yesterday and didn't get in till late last night. The weight is 33.9 grams, wingspan= 63+-mm, height of wreath is 53+-mm and width is 43+-mm. Other then the weight, I can't get the size any closer with out guessing.

                BSW Pilots..

                Goog morning to All,

At first, I would like to say that I have a phone call with Detlev yesterday about this thread, I must say I always have good relationship with him since 1996 until this week-end.
We all made mistakes in this difficult hobby, Detlev has a very low level of mistakes and I encourage collectors to buy from him. Like him it was my error not to have to verify this BSW pilot badge again before I posted it in collections references section of majorplm.com website, years after your knowledge is better, news information's about latest reproductions surfaced.

Now the positive aspect, collectors reading this thread, are able now to identify at first glance, a very well made Luftwaffe pilot badge reproduction, only with one detail the now famous "dip" on the inner edge of the wreath above the bottom bars.

I have trade this badge (the repro one) a year ago, computer break down last April, and I lost the name and email address of the new owner, if you read this thread please contact me.

Now some words about majorplm.com, Prosper and I: majorplm is run by collectors and students of militaria and military history for collectors and students of militaria and military history and we do believe in free speech. Prosper is not a partner, he is my friend and I'll never say to him what to say, what to think or what to write, he is a free honest man.

                Have a good day!

Thank you for your comments, Phillippe. We have now established that the "dip wreath" BSW is not authentic. We welcome any comments or observations you might have regarding the other BSW badges that are being discussed on this thread.

                    Something new:

Maybe, wich means possibly, I was wrong stating the first badge I have shown was from a group - Again, possibly I have mixed 1 & 2 - which would mean that the first BSW badge I have shown came ALONE (possibly on a trade basis) - my mistake if my statement was wrong - sorry

Now if this is what I was told, this badge came from the MAX.

Lolo, where is your coming from?

                      Hi Guys,
Today I was surfing Prosper and Phillippes' website over at Majorplm.com and came across this "BSW' Pilots Badge.http://www.majorplm.com/collections...W-flug.BSW.html
I wrote to Prosper and told him my ill feelings towards this one. With his permission I have linked to it's address above. The three things that I saw immediately that threw up the proverbial "red flag" were:
#1 - That now famous "dip" in the wreath above the bottom bars
#2 - The eagles inner talons should be wavy (~~) and nearly touching one another.
#3 - The third feather down on the left wing should be much shorter for this particular maker
We were in agreeance to post it on this thread to hear other forum members feelings towards this badge.
                      ERIC

I must say that I was very interested in Eric's kind warning. The badge actually belongs to a good friend of mine. I am more than happy for it to be discussed here.

The links to this badge are now broken as we have thrown it off the site. We operate a zero tolerance policy and this one got through because of its provenance. Just goes to show that we can all make mistakes. I am thinking of setting up a Hall of Shame for fake badges, inspired by Eric Queen's Hall of Shame over on the FJ Forum. Fake medals and badges and the people selling them seem to be popular subjects, judging by the viewing figures whenever they are are discussed. But for those of you who need to see what the 'dipped wreath' BSW-marked fake Pilot's Badge looks like, I will post the images here. Hopefully you will not get taken by one of these fakes...which is what this forum is all about at the end of the day.

                            Hi Guys,
This thread has some loose ends. Please review it and let's come to some conclusions (if possible).

It seems as though we've got the type A + B mixed up.

We should probably refer to them as first patten (like Tiffen's) and second pattern (formerly type A and A-1).

I'd also like to show that both second pattern types (A and A-1) come with and without the bridge between the talon and swasi.

Here is a second pattern (A1) without the bridge. Most of these previously shown had the bridge.
