Flak badge
Hello Stogie,
I personal do not like the badge for several reasons => one does not find the detail on the cannon as one would expect ( there are small dots missing on the cannon where they should be, the eagle looks different, etc ... the badge looks like it has been plated ??????? or did someone chrome it ?
Not for my humble collection I would say
Cordial Greetings,

I don't like it....
....it looks VERY similiar to the bad one that Jamie Cross sold me (and several others on this forum).
I note it doesn't have the usual rivets around the base that supports the gun and although you don't have a close up pic. of the maker mark, I suspect from what I can see that this also doesn't conform to the proper Brehmer maker mark.
I do have some good pics. of genuine Brehmer flaks, I will try and locate them.
Quite a while ago Detlev also featured a bad flak badge very similiar to yours in his "fake of the week" section.
Have a look on the estand for posts by Tim C - he sold a good one recently and he posted Detlev's repro. flak badge alongside a good one.

Hi Rick,
In the absence of really clear images, that look likes one of the recent good quality repros to me. The absence of several sets of rivets around the gun pedestal, the badly twisted hinge and variations in the profile of the wreath (particularly the two "humps" at the top of the wreath behing the eagle) all lead me to this conclusion. Detlev has featured this in the past as a repro of the week and I can e-mail you the image if you don't already have it. No comment on the case.

Hi all,
sorry Rick it´s a bummer, I also had one of these but when you compare to the real thing it just does´nt hold up detail wise, even the zink ones have better detail than this.
Bad luck, hope you did´nt lay out to many dollars (I through away 180 Euro on mine)

Thank goodness. I'm not silly enough to plunk down the cash on anything WW2 without having it brutalized by the forum first. I usually buy from the known/trusted dealers, but this one popped up on offer from a fellow I bought a LDO cased 1914 EK2. Stone cold mint, WW2 era manufacture, a nice oddity in the LDO case. But, he sent a bunch of pictures on some other pieces, so I checked here first! Thanks guys, saves me a hassle!
