    Zeppelin Crew Badge?

These images were passed over to me for my input. I've never come across one of these before so suspect it's a fantasy piece. TBH, I wasn't too sure in which section to put this, so mods feel free to move or bin.

Have you seen a genuine one to be able to call this as a fake?

No, because this is a fantasy badge.

However, WWI-era Zeppelin badges do exist but of course without the swas.

Actually the central device on this fantasy piece appears to be cast from an original post-1933 tinnie (ie WITH swas).

Here are links to a couple of examples:

                https://www.flyingtigerantiques.com/...in-tinnie.html

                http://www.stewartsmilitaryantiques....67.archive.htm

The wreath on the example above is cast from a LW qualification badge (Glider/RO/etc) and the rivets and hardware are obviously not period, so all up it is imo a fantasy piece combining components based on genuine items.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!
