    May I please get your thoughts on this clasp?

    I've been looking at examples posted here but I don't know what specific details to look for in authentication as I've never studied them before.

        I´ll agree, not a original clasp.

                Do not feel bad, this fake fooled many collectors over at least a 20 year time span. You have to carefully compare the pin (down position) and the lettering to see the issues.

                In hand, at a show, not blown up on a computer like we see here, much more difficult for a collector not well versed in the fakes of this clasp.

                  In fact, over 20 years ago I think I asked Lorenzo at the old San Diego, California militaria show about one of these fakes. He said it was a fake, but I was not sure even with a magnifying glass in my hand. We simply did not have the references then. John
