As for your question about the meaning of "1.K". Not sure but perhaps K-verbände:

1. K-Division

Provided that it's a U-boot cap then my best bet would be that the U-boot captain who used this insigne had formerly belonged to the 1.k-division. Then again, it might also not be U-boot at all and in actual fact a 1. K schiffchen, meaning that the writers just assumed it was U-Boot encouraged by the common viking ship logo.
