Nice original, looks like that is black ink on it you might be able to get it off with a little acetone, try it on the back first

I do not see the black ink but probably there if you do. What I do see, I think, is some kind of paste or polish in a few crevices. I would take a very soft toothbrush and try brushing it out. John
