    Blockade Runner Badge-for review

I would like to get your opinion about this set of Naval Blockade Runner Badge with case and mini. Case has relatively high quality lid and simple insert. Do they belong to each other or is the case a kind of "Frankenstein"?
Thank you in advance for your comments.

This kind of miniature is often found with gablonz made blockade breaker (which seems to be also ok except the repaired hinge). I can not comment the case.

Thank you very much for your comment !!!
It looks, like small repair was done around the hinge.
      Best regards,
      Klaus

You are very welcome. Repair could be a factory made, it´s quite ussual at zincers.

          Hi,
          All is fine here.
Full size badge, the mini and the case are correct and look like original Agmuk set.
I am not sure if the hinge was resoldered. Better side views of the hinge would be useful.
          Cheers,
          Hubert

I agree with Joseph. Factory soldering like that is typical for this variant. In that sense it’s not a repair but just an alternate method for attaching the hinge in the factory since the crimp design was unsuccessful.

That's a nice set, Klaus, and I agree with the others about the hinge. It's not unusual to see that on not only the AGMuK blockade breakers but some of the other Gablonz badges as well such as RK LGABs and RS&S HSFs.

One small correction, we don’t see that on the RS&S Fleet badges. The crimps may fail in wear but the factory production line didn’t solder them on like in the AGMuK Blockade Breaker.

                            Norm,
Sorry about that, I may have been thinking about the hook, not the hinge, on the HSF badges, but I could just as well be wrong about that. I thought I had seen samples of that which were most likely factory done, but am I incorrect in that observation?

                              Hi Dale,

The ones with the “factory soldered” catches are cast fakes like this one:
