Is everything ok with it?
I Think it’s a fine, late war original badge ..

Hi Robin,

I think the gilding and silvering is typical of early 1960's Souval (examples attached). The badge itself is possibly leftover wartime stock with some extra filing at the time of the refinishing. Certainly Souval/Umlauf were known for refinishing wartime stock to make it prettier at the same time as casting new badges from old.

Here's another example with colouring and setup similar to yours but without the smoothing of the margins of the internal cutouts.

I've always been a bit on the fence regarding examples with the raised circular rims in the circled areas. There not usually seen on the typical "wartime-compatible" Souval's.
