Agree with Chris, first OK, some gilding left, the second is a fake IMO. John

Yes the second is 100% fake. Terrible detail.
The first example is a beautiful, worn badge!

Thanks Chris, John and Nightstalker.
Looking at the badges again I can see the better detail in the Bird and lettering in the first badge.
There are no doubt, other differences as well.
I have not handled a great many of these badges, so am very grateful for your opinions.
