    Auxiliary Cruiser War Badge opinions?!?

    Good day everyone.
Gentleman, I would like to hear Your as allways very helpful & useful opinions on this Auxiliary Cruiser War badge. I believe it to be made by Foerster & Barth, L/21.
For me it looks to be original piece & not that easy to find one made by this manufacturer. Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Best regards,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,

It does indeed look like a good somewhat beat up F&B, but the catch appears to have been replaced.

The catches usually have the characteristic curled pattern in stamped metal like in the attached images.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

      Thanks for Your answer Norm.
I think You are also correct about the catch, I also noticed, that it looks to be repaired/replaced.
      Thanks,
      Regards

Despite the repair it's a very nice badge and hard to find with the L/21 mark on the mainpin.

            Cheers,Martin.

Thanks Andy, haven't decided yet, but probably will add it to my collection if the price negotiations will go the right way.

I am not so shure it´s a replacement catch - resoldered maybe.

Förster & Barth used that "Pforzheim" catch on their BWB´s for instance so there is a possibility that this might be just a variation.
                    Regards

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

Hello Hans. I also wrote in one of the posts earlier, that it might/looks be repaired- resoldered.
                      Thanks for the information.
                      Regards,
