Hi germanmedals,

Well, it's either a reproduction of a zinc Deumer or it's a heavily worn original in poor shape with replaced hardware. Hard to tell which but the softness of detail is concerning.

Hi germanmedals, as I am going to buy this badge that you posted in The Militaria E-Stand ( http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru....php?t=1009037). I would like to ask again the forum for more opinions about it.

Please germanmedals, can you post more pictures of the badge? Maybe a more focused picture of the front can bring more light about this topic. The question would be if this badge can be a Deumer-attributed zinc U-Boat with the variant "question mark"-shaped round-wire catch, previously posted by AndyC.

Thanks for the quick reply germanmedals.

With the new front picture, we can see that Norm F's concern about upper part of the uboot in the first photo was because of the angle where the first photo was taken.

Well, the new photos are no better, and my opinion is unchanged. Either a cast fake or an original that is mysteriously worn down, the edges rounded off and with completely replaced hardware.

It's certainly not the question mark-shaped variant catch like on Andy's.
