Yet...another U-boat....help?

Hi guys.....seems like everybody is buying them...lol. I grabbed this up in Greensboro last weekend at an antique store. I mainly stick to the pointy items...daggers, swords, etc, but this seemed solid and had that feel to it...ya know. Didn’t have the time for due diligence into doing my homework before you buy, took a chance. If anyone would care to have a quick look.... I sure would appreciate it. Thanks so much guys!

Hello. I dont have a good feeling from this one. Look at the small holes on the reverse. Casting signs...

Think it’s the picture angle.....I honestly don’t think it’s casted.....could be wrong but I’d like a few more opinions if possible. The feel, weight and detail look right.Some of the others here that are legit look the same or worse to me.....but here again I’m primarily an edged weapons collector.

It is a cast fake.

The detail is poor and the basemetal and reverse hardware are not period IMO.

Wow.....thanks so much for the information guys, I really appreciate it. Sadly it seems I have made yet another knee jerk buy without a sound knowledge base to back it up. Since I have started collecting AGAIN...this is my second rookie mistake. Won’t be a third.......for awhile anyway...lol. Kinda like these also. I think I’ll get one from a brother on the WAF and learn a little more. Hope to have something decent to show you guys next time. Take care and again.....thanks to ALL!

Dude, we all get burned from time to time. The important thing is not giving up and to keep learning. Use the badge as a set filler and carry on.
