How many would you buy at $975

VERY NICE MARKED SCHWERIN........I'll take two dozen please.

I was having a conversation with one of the "well known" dealers here in the US and he thinks these really premo items are sold before the site is up to Detlev's good customers. Then simply marked sold at the time the site is updated. I almost beleive that because several weeks in a row I hit the send button after finding only one item, and only on a lowly west wall medal later in the day have I been successful.

            Every so often......

......someone makes a statement similar to the above:

I was having a conversation with one of the "well known" dealers here in the US and he thinks these really premo items are sold before the site is up to Detlev's good customers.
Why then bother to waste the time post such items for sale in the first place?

And if you really think Herr Niemann is doing such things just to make an impression.......ask him. According to him he doesn't engage in that type of practice involving sales. Don't believe me?

            Ask Detlev.

Or look in the archives here. This is an old. old subject.

                Hey Bruce

I was careful not to make any direct accusations. Only that I wonder. Sorry if you took it that way. The fact is this "person" mentioned it to me after I was joking with him about getting the old "sorry sold". As a matter of fact I had never really thought that until he mentioned it. He was pretty specific, I'll leave it at that or this will turn into a he said you said and will only appear I am slamming the big "D". I have the highest regard for him and will continue to "try" to get the green light occasionally.

C'mon you guys it is no big deal, happens in almost every business. I am in the new home industry and almost always the best advertised houses have already been sold when the advert hits the paper or the site opens and the signs go up.

Hell it even happened when Bell Mobility released it's 10/4 service. All stores were well sold out in advance of advertising by taking specific pre-orders from existing customers they each contacted a month before. I got the first 4 from my dealer and had had them reserved for a month before Bell ever told anyone that the service was going to be released.

It is a good marketing strategy to keep those wonderfull things showing up for sale even if they are sold, it gets the crowd to keep looking and possibly buy something else. Trick is to get on a pre-order list or spend big with a retailer and get those pre-offers or possibly just possibly one of those pieces will actually not be spoken for.
