GWL U-boot badge, authentic?

Hello,

I do own an U-boot paper document set which is missing all the awards. I'm looking to build a display with all the awards present.


I was scrolling the net a noticed this U-boat badge marked GWL. I compared it to an authentic badge I found photos of on the forum. Looked to be matching, however the colour of the badge puts me a bit off.
I would like to hear your opinions.

Hi Daniel,

I agree the colour is off-putting although that could just be the flash photography. But you need better photos anyway -- straight-on views of both obverse and reverse in daylight. Also you need a closeup of the hinge and the tension foot plate of the main pin sine it looks strange there.
