    U Boat Badge Authenticity

If anyone would like to offer an opinion on this badge I would appreciate it. I am a bit stinky on it. Or more than a bit. As you can see it is unattributed. Thank you for any help.

          I agree.

A good Steinhauer & Luck zinc award.

Hard to tell if the hinge has replaced or not ??

          Cheers,Martin.

The photos aren't great but I don't think the hinge has been replaced since it's the correct small block hinge for this variant and you can still see gilding on the solder.

            Best regards,
            ---Norm

Thank you all gentlemen. You are correct, the photos were not very good. Here is another attempt. I really appreciate your detail on the identification of the piece.

              Hubert, are you in Germany?

              Regards,
              Dave

Didn't photograph the hinge for the pin. Here it is.
                Thanks again.

                  Hi Dave,
No, I live in Warsaw, Poland.
Thanks for additional images which show your u-boat is textbook S&L, less common variant with Deumer-like hardware
                  Cheers,
                  Hubert

OK Poland. Thank you Hubert for the details on the hardware. Your English is also "textbook."
                    All the best,
                    Dave
