Problem is that this item could be made by someone with decent metalworking skills. Buy the item not the story.

You do not have to name the dealer if you do not want to. No matter the dealer, it would be an opinion on his part.

My question to you is the price for this. If it is very cheap, who cares as long as you are happy with it.

If not cheap, you have been given very good advice to not purchase this as the sawfish emblem is very easy to copy.

Even if it was being sold to you at an expensive price since the seller said it came directly from the family, without provenance, no way. In that case, it is reverse psychology by making an artifact expensive, it must be period.
