    Blockade Runner set

I have a few questions to ask about this set.It look's like it might of been around quitting time when this person was applying the gilt to the eagle. It looks like it was never applied completely. How does this affect value? And,does the maker mark and pin and catch assembly look alright?I've scanned threads and always see different set-ups.Any opinions are appreciated. Regards,Darrick

        EERRR!! Darrick,

I really hate to be saying this but i would be rather worried by that set.
Maybe you should have a look at classic AGMuKs here:

        http://www.wehrmacht-awards.net/foru...ad.php?t=93294

could it be than when you look at the hinge side on, its not solid but sort tin plate wrapped around leaving a hollow space in the middle?

The box looks convincing but that catch also worries me. A front shot of the case with the lid open please.
Can you pull the left hand inlet out?

Sorry for being so worring, I´m sure this was expensive.

Hi Darrick, This one looks bad to me. Hinge, catch, markings are wrong for this maker and it does not look like zinc.

Hi Darrick, I do hope i'm wrong on this one but i do not like what i see,.Firstly the wave area looks to flat and lack the original look, eagles beak looks wrong, eagle looks wrong. Maker mark is not correct if you focus on the BERLIN you will see the differences. Also the pin and catch. There are other areas that i wont go into. If you can i would surgest that you get in touch with the vendor and try and send it back. Best of luck. All the best.

Sorry for being the bearer of bad news Darrick but indeed both case and badge are copies IMO.

Lets hope you can get your cash back.

                        Hi Darrick,

I have to agree, it does not share the die characteristics, basemetal, maker's mark or hinge/pin/catch of AGMuK BB badges. Interestingly, it does not appear to be a casting of a Schwerin BB, nor does it appear to be a rework of the good quality Schwerin "Cave Creek Special" BB repro.

                        Regards
