    Coastal Artillery Badge for review

Hi guys, I need your opinion about this CAB. The maker is Fec.Otto Placek - Berlin - by C.E.Juncker - Berlin, I would like to know if you see something weird on this badge.

    Thanks!!

    Hi escipion,

The photos are too poor and low resolution to be sure, but on these the details and outlines look somewhat soft and the main pin doesn't look quite right compared to standard originals.

I assume digital alteration accounts for the deformed swastika -- you'd hope that someone with the computer skills to do that would be able to take better photos. Without better high resolution photos, I'd pass on this one.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

Turns out this is a clever Staegemeir fake. Note the same surface flaws reproduced in the reverse.

          Dimensions from escipion:
          Height: 51mm
          Width: 39mm
          Eagle width: 11mm
          Artillery gun height: 42mm
          Weight: 23g

Dimensions from an original for comparison:
          Height: 53.6 mm
          Width: 41.5 mm
          Weight: 21.0 g

          Best regards,
          ---Norm

Great detective work Norm, thanks a lot!
I had bad gut feelings about this badge and now it's clear it is a fake
              Cheers,
              Hubert
