    First Pattern S-Boat opinions

What do you think of this example?

    Hi John,

That's typical "Staegemeir-like" construction, whether from Staegemeir himself or from one of his suppliers.

It's a cast copy of the unknown maker S-Boat that's discussed here:
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...47#post6532947.

and even the type upon which the copy was based is already the "poor cousin" of the S-Boat world.

    Best regards,
    ---Norm

I do not see the similarity Norm, especially with the eagle. I think it is a totally unknown fake, for sale right now in Germany on an internet sales site, meaning one of those collective sites that people can try to sell their items, like ebay almost.

I found it interesting as a fake due to the splash over gold on the reverse. So some effort was made to make it more convincing.

But if you are correct, and I know better than to argue since you have better things to do with your time this time of day, it was a very bad cast of that original fake.

That eagle looks like Kermit the frog.

          Agreed, known fake
          Cheers,

I call this the Kermit the Frog fake. We have cyclops, why not Kermit.

An apt name, but not so fair to poor Kermit...

It is the same obverse design, but a very bad copy as you said.

                Typical "Staegemeir-like" splashover.
