        Common fake.

Here is what they should look like. We have many pinned threads to refer to also if you wish to compare.

Not a good one, isn´t that the one that came from UK many years ago?
Often in a set with a miniature.

              Hi Andy,

The fake from the opening post is the type generally referred to as a "Cake Creek Special", the nick-name based on the city of the U.S dealer from Arizona, the late Lowell Jackson. Another example is seen in the fakes gallery here:
              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...89#post4570789
and in Mike Kenny's Cave Creek thread here:
              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...76#post2200176

The sets with miniatures described by ex-WAF member Liam Good as originating from a UK dealer in the 1980s were the A.G.Mu.K fakes seen here:
              http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...91#post1606491

Having said that, I don't doubt that both those "Schwerin" and "A.G.M.u.K." fakes were made by the same source considering their close similarities in production style and materials. Stories about where fakes emerge don't nail down where they were actually made -- could be UK, US or continental Europe for all we know.

              Best regards,
              ---Norm
