I agree definately vaulted by hand as these have a flat back as standard. This was not an uncommon practise as some thought it provided a better fit on the uniform. Usually you can see marks where either grips or a vice have been applied in order to bend it.

Here is a similar vaulted one unfortunately this one may have been regilded at some time.

Hi Rob mine is much the same, if you look very closely either side of the mm you can see a very faint line that runs down from the eagle. On the pics the right hand side marks are more visible than the left (just below the gun barrel). All the best
