    KM related silver schnaps cups

Not an award but I like to share this with you and perhaps get some more info on them.

I have a set of 6 silver cups with different engravings, all related to Dutch Harbour and river defence units, mostly equipped with Fish trailers and riverboats added with some weapons and mine clearing equipment. Not the fanciest part of the Kriegsmarine but important for the Netherlands with all their waterways and ports.

All cups are signed and I was able to find some names and ranks.

    The Units are:

Hafenschutz Flottille SüdHolland (Harbour security flotilla South Holland)

Hafenschutz Flottille NordHolland (Harbour security flotilla North Holland)

FlüssRaum Flottille Niederlande ( River clearing flotilla Netherlands)

Führer de Mototbootsverbände Nierlande (Leader motorboats Netherlands)

    Maas Flottille (River Meuse flotilla)

    Rhein Flottille (River Rhein flotilla)

Most likely a gift to a higher officer due to the fact that I have found 4 names to the signatures that belongs to the commanding officer of that specific unit.

HS FLottille SüdHolland: Korvettenkapitän Hans Kiesewetter
    MaasFlottille: Korvettenkapitän Curt Opolski
    RheinFlottille: Kapitänleutnant Carl Krämer
FlussRaumFlottille Niederlande: Kapitänleutnant Emmerich Schrittwieser or Schrittmieser

So if enyone could provide me with some additional info please share!!

    Thanks for watching.

IMO based on the errors in the writing, post war fake fantasy items, until someone can proof the originality

I am a little hesitant to point at the errors because if these are fake, I don't want to help the fakers to correct their spelling for the next series of cups. I propose that we look at it in a positive way and try to find proof of authenticity. Best collectors greetings.

I have no knowledge regarding these items, but other silver cups posted in the Luftwaffe section and elsewhere have silver maker code stamps in the bottom which could be very helpful for determining authenticity? Are these marked in some manner on the bottom?

              Best regards,
              ---Norm

                      Hi René,

So the next step would be to research silver maker trademarks in reference books and silver collector forums so see if that's a legitimate mark dating to a particular time. For sure, that expertise exists.

                      Best regards,
                      ---Norm

I just realized your two photos were of the same cup. Are they all marked the same or are some unmarked or with different marks?

                          Best regards,
                          ---Norm

I think it is a little premature to call it fake or even a fantasy item.
I do not think these are made to deceive.
If I was faking items I would certainly engrave a swastika and find a more interesting unit than a unit that uses converted Fishtrailers. Furthermore I would never use autographs of reserve officers.

The seller made sure the marks are from the TR erea. I have emailed him for more info.

                            Keep you posted.

Ps: I think the spelling is correct (perhaps an umlaut to many)
