      Period badge from this maker. The front finish may have been tampered with, but I am not sure.

      Recommend you compare it closely with the many others of this type posted on this forum and try to determine if there might be a problem.

      Are you looking to buy this badge?

              I agree, with John and Martin. Original badge but repainted. Although the finish is often well-preserved on the "AS in triangle" S-Boats, as John said, if you compare with originals in other threads you'll see the difference.

                  I think this maker did actually use a paint, it looks like it to me. However, the paint on this one is 110% not period applied! You can see blobs and brush strokes on this job.
                  I do like this maker though!

                          Depending on what he used to re-paint the badge it may be removed with acetone ?
