    Schwerin coastal artillery badge, zinc.

    I have noticed a lack of pictures available of the zinc Schwerin badges and so I will be posting mine for reference and comments.

    If you have a zinc CAB please add to the thread with your own pics. I know it will help others and might help myself with a concern/question I have.

                  i dont think fakers could copy the plating schwerin used in making original examples in zinc does anybody think this is right??

                    I think given enough time, criminel energy, money and technology they could fake just about anything.

                    I have seen some copies of Schwerin CABs around. The best are the cave creek specials which look really good on photos. The only zinc copies have been cast lead fakes, so not to hard to spot.

                        Here are the reverses. The one on the left is missing the catch. The one on the right certainly did not receive the best of workmanship. The gilting was sloppily applied with quite a bit of spillover to the reverse, and there is so much solder around the catch, that you can barely see the catch plate.
