Sub Clasp, fake, lets here why

Heres a Sub Clasp from the same lot as the other items I posted,

This one being fake aswell, but thought it would be a good idea to post it for everyone to see it, so as they know to stay away, aswell if some of you veteran collectors would like to comment on the flaws, so we can all learn from you.

    thanks

what kind of metal is this made of? It doesnt look like zinc.

The finish reminds me of something you would see on a faux antique lamp, where they apply a dark coating, then rub off the high spots, trying to simulate patina.

Accidentally offending people on the internet since 1997

        Hi Dan,

Sorry but this is a known copy, not bad but a copy nevertheless. Besides the use of the wrong material as pointed out by Mark, the biggest give away on these clasps is the right "short" eagles claw that doesn't touch the middle swas arm. Here is a close-up of the original, focus on the right claw.

          Hi Dan,

I agree with Mark and Philippe. The finish is the biggest give away on this and the fake CCC posted yesterday. It is close to originals, but not correct. I have seen this exact same finish on the fake F&BL clasps too.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

In Addition to the above comments I do not see the uneven letters of the originals and the lower tilted F in ENTWURF.
