I have not seen enough zinc ones to be sure about the hinge (correct for zinc badges) and hinge pin (big domed end)

Any help would be appreciated

Someone must have a zinc Schwerin destroyer out there somewhere, they cant all be tombac.

Yes, the zinc Schwerin destroyers are absolutely rare, but not many people want them so the prices are much lower than for their Tombak counterparts.

Hi Al have just clicked onto this thread and agree nice original. I have encountered a few zinckers on my travells and like Frank has already said they are cheaper and often remained unsold (at least the ones i have seen, buy the people i tend to deal with) this i think is largely due to there condition, i opted out buying one not so long ago for this very same reason. The badge in question arrived on Wednesday ( not bad considering I posted the initial post only 4 days earlier) and I have updated the dealer pics with my own.

After doing more reasearch I am happy with the badge and the domed hinge pin, even though it is not text book for a zinc badge.

I never realised that the zincers were on the rare side when compared to tombac versions, but my search for picturesa and the lack there of proves this theory is correct.
