Both badges are original, that´s not a fake, Ken. The maker of Tony´s is BH Mayer.
              Cheers, Frank

Ken, it could be, but I am not familiar with that reverse setup for Mayer Minesweepers, I only know of two others from him. But it is a possibility or another maker using the very same design, also possible.
                  Cheers, Frank

                    Hi Frank,

Thanks for the on the badges. The last two badges that have come my way have been Kreigsmarine. I'm more of a Luftwafffe collector, but the price was right.

                      hi frank

frank, I think the whole back set up on mine has been replaced or repaired. the metal feels good, and the front looks good, but because of the sloppy setup on the back i always thought it was a fake.

Frank, how do you know this is an unmarked B.H. Mayer? Do you have any marked pics on one you could post in here?

                        Thanks

                        Tom D.
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                          Hi Tom,

Frank is correct, this is a unmarked B.H. Mayer piece. Here's another one which I have had for awhile. Notice this style catch seems to float between makers, depending on which Kriegsmarine badge were talking about.

                            Dear Tom,

Take a look at this thread

                            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...er+minesweeper

Sadly enough most pics are gone but the few remaining zinker are the type that you normally encounter with the l/18 mm. The design of this minesweeper is unique and since we knew who made the zinkers it was easy to find their Buntmetall brothers
