On Huss's site it is described as an "Erinnerungbuch", ( a memory of the voyage, perhaps)?
It is pre-war and probably put together for the crew of a "training Ship'.
Another photo of this book from Huss's site shows the dates for 1926,hence,"Crew 26".

John,
Each year, officer cadets joined the German navy. During the Reichsmarine it was usually one cadet course (crew) entry per year.
The courses were numbered by the year, here Crew 26 means all cadets joined in the year 1926 the Navy.
In later years, when the Navy was ramped up with officers, a year had have more than one entry course. Than you see for example crew II/42, which means 2nd officers cadet course (crew) of 1942.
The books were issued by the crews as a commemorative book and are well sought after today as there are a good reference about the officers, many times including pictures of them.
The crews build a very strong bond among themselves, even after the war, reaching up to "mobbing" ex-officers which were not in line with the "crew-politics" or which raised some concerns about the KM ethics....
Also the crew year you will find in the rank lists.
Regards
