    Questions on Destroyers' badge

I got this badge back in 1998 or 1999. I purchased this from Dan Kelly as an original piece, but I have my doubts about it.
Just wanted to post it up here and see what you guys think about it?

            Hey Matt,

Suck, squeeze, bang, blow...that helped me more than you'll ever know

The pin, looks rather broad where it breaches out like a Roman sword, other than that it looks very close. I'm not keen though.

Best wait for the resident experts on this, I'm only conversant with a couple of the many fakes on these, and I sold my destroyer like this one.

(I put my K98 up on the forum, it's a '37 export to Portugal !)

              I don't like it.

The pin is wrong shape, the MM is too low and there's a cutout under the lowest gun, all the others I have seen are solid here.

              David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

Hi Matt, not too keen on this award, mm close but not correct and as already said too low. Cut out to the side of the mast not correct.Detail looks soft (could be pics though).Reverse does not seem to have the quality you expect from this maker. Close but i dont believe this to be original. All the best.

                  Hi Matt,

Sorry but this is a completely bogus Schwerin Destroyer. Maybe a bit late but you could always try to return it.

This is how an original should look.

I agree Matt, a good reproduction, which is known.
                      Cheers, Frank

Thanks Guys! That is exactly why I had my doubts about this one! Gun barrel cut outs, maker mark, and also the wear on the badge is not even throughout (wreath is 95% while ship has much more wear to it!).

Just as I suspected, a high quality reproduction.

Thanks again guys for all your help!

                        Matt

BTW- Philippe, Excellent looking Destroyers badge!
