Opinions wanted on U Boat badge

I would be grateful for opinions on this U Boat badge, which I think is a reproduction. I attach some pics.
    Thanks,
    Peter

I would say a typical original Friedrich Orth zinc U-boat badge, MC# 5.6.1 in the comprehensive classification system.

      Best regards,

        Thanks Norm,
The beak looked a little odd to me.

                Norm,
Looking at the classification table, I'm a bit puzzled by the 5.6.1 entry that states that the badge is marked "f o,"but then it states that it is not marked "o." Not sure what is meant by this.
                Thanks,
                Peter

                  Hi Peter,

Here's a Type 1 (UC# 5.6.1) and a Type 2 (UC# 5.6.2). The "f.o." mark is always in relief, being a feature of the reverse die. The "o" stamp is incuse near the bottom in the Type 2, and is produced from a separately applied tool.

                  Best regards,
                  ---Norm

                    Thanks Norm,
That makes it perfectly clear, and I can also see the different lengths of the crosspieces on the f, the type 1 being longer than in the type 2.
Thanks for taking the time to explain,
                    Peter
